Tau-fluvalinate technology

The efficacy of the 'Mavrik' insecticide from ADAMA is based on its unique active ingredient: tau-fluvalinate. Unlike standard pyrethroids, this component offers superior photostability and a prolonged period of residual protection. The tau-fluvalinate molecule targets the sodium channels of the pest's nervous system, inducing paralysis and rapid mortality. Crucially, the product retains its activity even at elevated air temperatures, which is essential for field operations during periods of high solar radiation.

Protection mechanism and systemic action

Mavrik combines contact and systemic properties, allowing it to affect insects both upon direct contact with the spray solution and through ingestion of treated plant tissues. The oil-in-water emulsion formulation ensures excellent coverage of the leaf surface and rapid penetration into the plant cuticle.

Application guidelines

• Crops: winter oilseed rape, winter wheat, fodder beet, apple trees.
• Target spectrum: effective against pollen beetles, wheat bugs, weevils, codling moths, leafrollers, and aphids.
• Application technique: foliar spraying during the growing season. Up to two applications per season are permitted.
• Dosage: the product is applied at rates ranging from 0.15 to 0.6 L/ha, depending on the phytosanitary status of the crop and the pest pressure.

Classified as a hazard class 3 product, Mavrik serves as a reliable and predictable tool in integrated pest management programs. Its high adhesion to leaf surfaces ensures that the treatment remains effective even if light precipitation occurs shortly after application.
