Alaine

Alaine lettuce is a type of mini-romaine red lettuce developed by Rijk Zwaan in the Netherlands. This variety is characterized by its early maturity and suitability for cultivation under various conditions, including greenhouse, polyethylene greenhouses, open field, and hydroponics. The leaves have a rich dark red color with a contrasting transition to green, giving the plant an attractive appearance. It is an open-type plant with a dense, upright rosette, facilitating easy harvesting and packaging.

Alaine lettuce exhibits high resistance to bolting and necrosis, as well as tolerance to fusarium, making it a reliable choice for year-round cultivation. Disease resistance is confirmed by the following indicators: Bl:16-32, 34-37EU/Fol:1/Nr:0. The weight of one plant reaches approximately 400 grams, ensuring a good yield with proper care.

The lettuce seeds are small, with 600 to 1000 seeds per gram, enabling efficient planting planning. Due to its characteristics, Alaine lettuce is widely used for retail sale both individually and in packs with other mini-romaine varieties. This variety is ideal for both commercial cultivation and home gardens, providing a stable and high-quality yield throughout the year.
