Biondonna

Biondonna salad is an early type Lollo Bionda variety developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. This variety features a robust, round rosette with double, intensely green leaves that have a dense structure and a pleasant delicate flavor. The rosette weight reaches approximately 400 grams, ensuring high marketability and attractiveness for fresh markets and salad mixes.

The vegetative period of Biondonna is 45-50 days from transplanting seedlings. The variety is suitable for cultivation both outdoors and under protected conditions — under plastic cover or in greenhouses, enabling year-round production. Optimal planting conditions are sunny areas without drafts, preferably following cabbage or potatoes. The leaves are resistant to tip burn, which enhances crop quality.

Biondonna exhibits high resistance to diseases and pests, reducing the need for intensive plant protection and promoting high yields with proper agronomic practices. This variety is intended for fresh consumption; its leaves are widely used in salads and for garnishing dishes, thanks to their attractive appearance and excellent flavor.
