Description
The CANYON salad represents a mid-season leafy lettuce variety of the Batavia type, distinguished by a large rosette with a diameter of 30-35 cm and plant mass ranging from 500 to 700 grams. The lettuce leaves are light anthocyanin, wavy, and deeply cut, giving them an attractive appearance and characteristic texture. In taste, the leaves resemble head lettuces, yet they maintain freshness significantly longer, making the variety particularly valuable for long-term storage and use.
This variety is resistant to bolting and major lettuce diseases, ensuring a stable yield and easier plant care. The leaf rosette reaches a height of about 27 cm, and leaf mass is approximately 350 grams, allowing for a yield of up to 3.4 kg per square meter. The maturation period is mid-season—commercial readiness begins 50-52 days after sowing.
CANYON is recommended for cultivation both in open ground and under temporary film coverings. For planting, an interval of 25x30 cm is optimal. Seed sowing is carried out in April-May, for seedlings in March-April, followed by transplanting in May. Successful cultivation requires regular and moderate watering, which promotes the formation of healthy and juicy leaves.
