Corbana

Corbana salad is an ultra-early romaine-type variety developed by Dutch breeders of the company Enza Zaden. This variety is intended for cultivation during the summer season, both in open ground and under plastic coverings, enabling the production of fresh produce throughout the warm season. The plant forms a semi-upright rosette of dark green leaves with a diameter up to 30 cm and height of about 35 cm, featuring dense, crisp leaves and an oval, compact head weighing 700–800 g. The leaves are smooth-edged, blistered, with excellent flavor qualities, suitable for fresh consumption as well as for industrial processing and salad mix preparation.

The variety is characterized by high adaptability and rapid growth, facilitating harvest due to its raised rosette. Corbana is resistant to various diseases, including false powdery mildew, lettuce mosaic virus, tomato dwarf virus, and infestation by lettuce aphids. Additionally, the salad demonstrates resistance to extreme sunburn and bolting, enhancing its reliability and yield stability.

The cultivation technology for Corbana lettuce includes soil loosening, weed control, and mandatory watering, which contributes to forming healthy and high-quality plants. Due to its characteristics and resistance, this variety is in demand on the fresh produce market and widely used in culinary applications, ensuring a stable and flavorful harvest during the summer season.
