Description
The 'Red Credo' salad is a mid-season leaf lettuce variety with a maturation period of 40 to 60 days, depending on growing conditions. The leaf rosette is large, reaching a diameter of 25-40 cm and a height of about 25 cm. The head is elongated, 20-25 cm long, with a characteristic burgundy hue on the outside and a green inner part. The leaves have wavy edges; they are juicy and crunchy with a delicate taste without bitterness, making this variety particularly attractive for use in fresh salads and other dishes.
The variety is distinguished by high yield – up to 3 kg per square meter, making it profitable for farmers and gardeners. It is resistant to flowering and withstands cold well, which allows it to be grown in open ground from early spring to late autumn. Additionally, the first selective leaf harvest can be conducted just 2-2.5 weeks after seedlings appear, without waiting for the full formation of the rosette.
'Red Credo' is undemanding in care and is suitable for growing both in open and closed ground. Its original appearance with burgundy-green leaves adds elegance to familiar dishes, while its rich vitamin composition ensures beneficial properties. The seeds of this variety have a shelf life of about 4 years, which is convenient for long-term storage and subsequent sowing.
