Gnom

Gnome is a late-maturing head lettuce variety that is ideal for cultivation in areas with limited space. The plant has a miniature rosette with a diameter of 18-22 cm, and the heads are flat-round, compact, about 10 x 11 cm in size and weighing approximately 230 g. The leaves are curly, dark green with a slight anthocyanin coloring along the edges, and have a delicate texture and excellent taste. The leaf surface is slightly wrinkled, and the head differs in medium density with a crisp texture. The variety is valued for its long period of commercial usability and high yield — 3.5-3.8 kg per square meter.

Growing Gnome lettuce is recommended in open ground. Sowing seeds is done directly into the ground in April-May, and for seedlings, seeds are sown in March-April with subsequent planting in May. The optimal planting scheme is 20×20 cm, which allows for effective use of limited space and is suitable for dense planting, including for creating "children's vitamin beds." Care for the plant is simple and does not require special efforts, which makes the variety accessible even to novice gardeners.
