Maximus (Maximus) lettuce is a medium-maturing, high-yielding variety of romaine (Roman) lettuce with a vegetation period of 55-60 days. This variety is versatile in cultivation — suitable for all-season growing both in open fields, greenhouses, and hydroponics. Maximus adapts well to various climatic conditions and soils, showing high resilience and heat tolerance without loss of quality. Due to these characteristics, the variety is successfully used for second crop rotation and has good transportability, making it popular in the fresh vegetable market.

Plants form a tall vertical rosette with large green leaves up to 30 cm long. The leaves are wavy, blistered, succulent, and crisp in taste, with a characteristic piquancy, making the lettuce ideal for fresh consumption in salads and side dishes. Head weight ranges from 650 to 800 grams. A distinctive feature of the variety is its slow bolting and resistance to necrosis, false powdery mildew, and downy mildew, as well as tip burn, ensuring stable product quality even under hot conditions.

Maximus also demonstrates good adaptation to heat stress and temperature fluctuations, allowing it to maintain high marketability and attractive appearance. The plant’s heart closes slowly, increasing the useful planting area and boosting yields in warm conditions.
