Description
Navarone is a mid-early lettuce hybrid of the Batavia type, developed by Vilmorin and included in the State Register of the Russian Federation for growing on personal subsidiary holdings. The plant reaches a height of about 22 cm, forming a semi-erect or horizontal leaf rosette. The leaves are large, light green, blistered with a strongly wavy edge and rare incisions in the top part, giving the lettuce an attractive appearance. The head is open, loose, and small, with plant mass varying from 85 to 150 grams. The leaf consistency is crisp, and the taste differs with excellent quality.
Navarone lettuce is characterized by high adaptability to growing in spring and autumn periods, especially in protected ground, including winter block-glazed greenhouses, where yield reaches 6.3 kg per square meter. It is resistant to bolting, which allows it to maintain market appearance and product quality for longer. In addition, the variety is tolerant to light deficiency and possesses resistance to downy mildew, ensuring crop stability and reducing disease risks.
Navarone is suitable for growing both in open and protected ground, making it a universal choice for various climatic conditions and cultivation technologies. Thanks to its characteristics, such as high uniformity of rosettes, rich green leaf color, and crisp texture, this lettuce will be an excellent addition to fresh dishes and salad mixes.
