Description
Verala lettuce is an early variety with burgundy, broad-leafed leaves, primarily grown outdoors. This variety has a medium maturity rate, with a vegetative period of about 50-55 days. Verala exhibits good resistance to cracking, which helps maintain harvest quality under adverse conditions. Seeds are produced in the Czech Republic and are suitable for planting in various regions of Ukraine.
Verala is resistant to bolting and neutral to downy mildew, which simplifies plant care and enhances its resilience. Seeds are sown in rows with a spacing of 15-20 cm between rows and a planting depth of 0.5–1 cm. The optimal sowing temperature is 4-5°C, and seedlings can withstand frost down to 2°C. The plant is cold-tolerant but does not tolerate excessive fertilization, which should be considered during cultivation.
The leaves of Verala lettuce are rich in vitamins, making it beneficial for nutrition for both children and elderly people. Harvesting occurs when the plant forms the typical rosette of leaves for this variety. Due to its characteristics and resilience, Verala is an excellent choice for growing from spring to autumn.
