VITAMIN CHEST

The Chest vitamin salad is a mid-season variety intended for cultivation in both open and protected ground. The leaf rosette is horizontal, reaching a height of about 20 cm and a diameter of 27 cm. Leaves are of medium size, pear-shaped with a reddish border, bubbly and slightly wavy along the edge, possess an oily consistency and excellent taste. The head is open, oval or round, loose or of medium density, weighing from 150-170 g to 330 g depending on growing conditions. The yield of the variety varies from 3 to 3.9 kg per square meter.

Salad leaves are characterized by high calcium, iodine and mineral salt content, which makes this variety especially beneficial and valuable for health. Thanks to its tender, crisp and juicy structure, Chest vitamin salad is indispensable for decorating dishes and adding freshness to various culinary compositions.

Sowing seeds is recommended at a depth of 1-1.5 cm in moistened soil followed by rolling. The optimal temperature for germination is 15–20°C, seedlings appear in 10-15 days. To obtain a stable and prolonged harvest, seeds are sown several times a season with an interval of 10-15 days. At the stage of two-three true leaves, thinning is carried out, and after 1.5 months - second thinning with leaving a distance of 15-20 cm between plants. Care for plants includes timely watering, loosening the rows, weeding and feeding with complex fertilizers, which contributes to the formation of a quality harvest.
