Zanardi

Zanardi lettuce is a Babyleaf-Cos type leaf lettuce with small, tender oval-round leaves and a narrow petiole. Its distinguishing feature is the uniform, deep red leaf color without colored spots at the base, giving it an attractive appearance. This lettuce belongs to the premium segment due to its high leaf quality, texture, and long shelf life, making it popular in the fresh market.

Zanardi has an early maturity period and is suitable for cultivation from spring to autumn, both in open ground and under cover. It tolerates hot weather and can withstand light frosts down to -5 degrees, expanding its cultivation possibilities. The variety is resistant to mechanical harvesting, simplifying the harvest process and improving production efficiency. For successful cultivation, timely watering, weed control, and fertilization are recommended.

This lettuce is rich in vitamins and has excellent taste qualities, making it ideal for salad mixes and fresh consumption. Seeds germinate well at +16 to +17 degrees Celsius, promoting high-quality seedlings. The breeder of this variety is the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan, and cultivation is primarily conducted in the Netherlands.
