Description
The 'Budjak' pea variety has a medium vegetation period of about 90 days and is a medium-height plant, approximately 65 cm tall, with strong branching intensity and a semi-erect posture after flowering. The stem lacks anthocyanin coloring, and the first flower bud is located high. Flowers are white with medium-length petals, and pods are very large, straw-yellow in color, with a short tip and two seed primordia. Seeds are light beige, shape varies from round to angular, and the 100-seed mass is very high, indicating high-quality seed material. The variety has a high crude protein content — up to 28% — making it a valuable source of protein, vitamins, and minerals. Average yield reaches 1.8 tons per hectare. 'Budjak' pea exhibits high drought and disease resistance, such as fusarium, root rot, and ascochytosis, confirmed by resistance ratings of 4-5 points. Additionally, the variety demonstrates excellent resistance to lodging and mechanized harvesting, simplifying agronomic processes and increasing production efficiency. For planting, seed depth should be 8–15 cm depending on soil moisture, and seeding rates vary by method: 500,000 seeds per hectare for row planting, 400,000 for band planting, and 300,000 for wide-row planting. Seeds are supplied in 30 kg bags with high purity (99.5%) and germination (96%), ensuring quality seed material and successful crop cultivation.
