Description
The Kira pea variety is an early-maturing, medium-height variety with a vegetation period of 88-92 days. Plants reach a height of about 55 cm, with lower pods positioned at 23 cm above the ground. This variety is characterized by intensive early vegetative growth and high drought resistance, making it suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions. Kira pea exhibits high resistance to lodging due to its strong main stem, as well as high or very high resistance to shattering, ascochyta blight, and root rots.
The grain yield of the Kira variety reaches 3.3 t/ha, with a 1000-seed weight of 330-350 g. Seeds are beige in color and round in shape, with a protein content of 25%, making this variety a valuable source of plant-based protein. Recommended sowing dates are from April to May at soil temperatures of 6-7°С, with a seeding rate of 350-500 thousand viable seeds per hectare, and row spacing of 15-50 cm.
The Kira variety is adaptable to soil type, preceding crop, and cultivation intensity, simplifying its cultivation. Due to its characteristics and resistance to adverse factors, this pea is suitable for achieving stable and high yields, as well as for use in various food products where high protein content and grain quality are valued.
