Korifei

Korifey is a medium-late spring variety of oat (Avena sativa L.), characterized by large grain size and hull thickness. The plant has a medium-height erect form with a height of 65-75 cm, and the weight of 1000 grains is 35-40 g. Leaf sheaths and leaf edges have weak pubescence; the upper stem node is not pubescent. The panicle is semi-closed, two-sided, and elevated, with drooping spikelets and medium-length spikelet chaff covered with a medium waxy coating. The grain is large, with a bulk weight of 415-575 g/l, and protein content varies from 13.4 to 15.6%.

The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and powdery bunt, as well as medium resistance to crown rust. It also shows drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The vegetation period is 65-85 days, which allows its use in regions with short summers.

Korifey demonstrates high yield: average yield reaches 25.1 c/ha, and maximum — 63.3 c/ha, which exceeds the indicators of many other varieties. Thanks to its qualitative characteristics and adaptability, the variety is recommended for cultivation in the Western Siberia and Far Eastern regions. It is included in the list of valuable quality oat varieties, which confirms its significance for agricultural production.
