Description
POKROVSKY 9 is a spring barley (Avena sativa L.) variety registered in 1988 and recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including East Siberia, Volga-Vyatka, Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, and Lower Volga. This medium-early and medium-maturing variety has a vegetative period of 66 to 84 days, allowing for successful cultivation in diverse climatic conditions. The plant is medium-height with a semi-erect bush, resistant to lodging, which helps preserve the yield and facilitates harvesting.
The variety belongs to the brunnea and mutica-aristata types, has a 1000-grain mass ranging from 31 to 43 grams. The head is of medium length, two-sided with horizontal branch placement, and the spikes are drooping. Spike and floral glumes are characterized by weak or medium waxy bloom, which affects disease resistance and grain quality. In field trials, POKROVSKY 9 demonstrated resistance to shattering, moderate susceptibility to powdery scab, as well as high field resistance to crown rust and powdery mildew, making it a reliable choice for farmers.
The average yield of the variety varies by region and ranges from 28.7 to 51.4 centners per hectare, indicating its high productivity. The grain contains up to 13.6% protein, ensuring good quality raw material for feed and food purposes. The variety is tolerant to root rots and drought-resistant, expanding its cultivation possibilities in various agro-climatic zones. POKROVSKY 9 is recommended for cultivation in the Amur region, Primorsky and Khabarovsk regions, as well as in a number of regions in Central and Southern Russia, confirming its adaptability and stability.

Overall bulb harvest per unit area. Depends on both onion variety characteristics and agronomic practices, fertilizers, and irrigation. Under optimal growing conditions, an onion yield of 100 tons per hectare and above is not considered record-breaking. |
