Description
Spring barley variety 'Talisman' is a mid-season, high-yield variety intended for grain and green fodder cultivation. It features medium straw height, intermediate bush type, and a semi-closed head with drooping spikelets. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 32 to 38 grams, while grain natural moisture varies from 450 to 550 g/l. The variety belongs to the mutica type and is characterized by good grain quality indicators, including protein content ranging from 9.3% to 15.4%. 'Talisman' is distinguished by high yield: average yield in cultivation regions reaches 31.5 c/ha, with a maximum of 87.0 c/ha. It is capable of accumulating significant amounts of green mass and dry matter, making it valuable for fodder use. The variety is resistant to lodging and shattering, which helps preserve the crop and facilitates harvesting. Regarding resistance to adverse factors, 'Talisman' has medium drought resistance and good winter hardiness. In terms of disease resistance, the variety is weakly susceptible to loose smut and crown rust, but is susceptible to powdery mildew. These characteristics allow for successful barley cultivation in various regions, including Tyumen and Amur regions, Krasnoyarsk and Primorsky territories.
