Birdie

Birdie F1 onion is a medium-maturing hybrid of semi-pointed bulb onion, selected by the Dutch company Bejo Zaden. This variety is ideally suited for cultivation in open ground, especially in dry regions of Ukraine, as well as southern and eastern parts of the country. The vegetation period is approximately 115 days, allowing for harvest at optimal times. The plant exhibits vigorous growth and high productivity, maintaining its development even under adverse conditions. The hybrid shows resistance to diseases such as pink rot and fusarium, enhancing cultivation reliability and crop quality.

Birdie F1 bulbs have a round shape, are uniform in size and weight, reaching up to 200 grams. They are covered with a dense, rich bronze scale that is strong and intact, providing reliable protection for the interior. The inner scales are thick, fleshy, and elastic, giving the onion juiciness and an attractive appearance. The onion has a moderately spicy taste with a characteristic aroma, making it versatile for culinary use and fresh consumption.

Harvested Birdie F1 onion is well-suited for long-term storage due to its qualities and structure. It is in demand both on fresh markets and for home use. The hybrid seeds have high germination: one gram contains 200 to 260 seeds, facilitating sowing and planting planning. Seed production is carried out in the Netherlands, ensuring high quality and compliance with international standards.
