The Boryan Allium porrum is a late-maturing variety featuring a powerful and very long stem base reaching up to 25 cm in length, resembling leeks in size. The leaf rosette of this variety is upright and can reach 40-60 cm, or up to 80 cm with good care. The leaves are light green, juicy, and do not toughen quickly, possessing a pleasant mild sharp taste and high vitamin and microelement content, making this variety especially beneficial for health. Boryan Allium porrum is grown by direct sowing in open ground in early spring. Seeds are sown at a depth of 1.5-2.0 cm in rows with a distance between them of about 30 cm. To ensure a continuous supply of fresh greens, sowings are recommended to be repeated with a two-week interval, with the last sowing possible until August 15. This approach allows for harvesting from spring to autumn. The Boryan variety does not tolerate winter conditions of a moderate climate well, so it is primarily grown as an annual crop. In northern regions with cold winters, it is recommended to avoid overwintering this variety in open ground.
