Shallot variety Dachny Sonata was developed specifically for the conditions of the Non-Black-earth region and the North-West of Russia, making it an optimal choice for growing in open ground, as well as in private subsidiary and farm enterprises. This mid-season variety is characterized by a large wide-oval bulb weighing about 15 grams and high yield of both green leaves and bulbs. The yield of green mass reaches 2.3-2.6 kg per square meter, which allows the plant to be used as a source of fresh greens throughout the year.
One of the key features of the variety is its high resistance to common diseases and pests, such as downy mildew and onion fly, which significantly eases care and increases the chances of a successful harvest. Dachny Sonata onion is characterized by good storability: when storage conditions are met, the bulb retains its market appearance and sowing qualities for more than 10 months, which makes it convenient for long-term storage and use.
