Excellent commercial and flavor qualities, high yield

Fakir — a mid-early golden variety of bulb onion. Vegetative period — 85-100 days. Commercial onion bulbs of the Fakir variety are grown in one year. Leaves are green with a waxy coating. Bulbs are round, dense, large, weighing 130-170 g. Outer scales have an attractive golden-yellow color, inner scales are white, juicy, thick, and crisp, with a medium-spicy flavor. We recommend planting the mid-early onion variety Fakir directly by sowing seeds into the soil, or via seedlings (cassette technology). Seed sowing rate is 4-5 kg/ha. Plant density should be approximately 0.8-1.2 million plants per hectare. We recommend planting the mid-early onion variety Fakir with row spacing of 30-45 cm and plant spacing within rows of 2.5-4.0 cm or 8.0-12.0 cm (depending on the desired yield). For drip irrigation, we recommend using 8 and 6-row planting (20-25 plants per linear meter with 27 cm between rows). Proper planting is the foundation for high yield. When plants are evenly spaced, the maturation process, field mechanical operations, harvesting, and drying are simplified, enabling the production of high-quality, uniform crops. Also, pay special attention to watering, as onions have a weak root system and water deficiency may adversely affect future yields. Air humidity during germination and until the beginning of bulb formation should not be less than 75-80 %, and during bulb formation — 70 % NH. The onion consumes the most water during the intensive growth phase of the bulb until the start of stem lodging. Harvesting of the mid-early onion variety Fakir should begin after 80-90 % of the stems have lodged. Yield of golden onion Fakir — 50-65 t/ha.
