Description
Fundador F1 onion is a mid-early hybrid of long-day, semi-sharp bulb onion developed by the Italian company Cora Seeds. The vegetation period is approximately 110-120 days, allowing for harvest at optimal times. The plant features a strong root system and upright stems with a thick waxy coating, which provides high plasticity and resistance to overcrowding, as well as tolerance to heat and other stressful growing conditions.
The hybrid forms large, very dense, round-shaped bulbs with a rich yellow-brown or dark bronze color covering the scales. The average weight of the bulb is 100-120 grams. The inner scales are snow-white, succulent, juicy, and have a pleasant taste. Fundador onion is suitable for mechanized harvesting and exhibits high resistance to diseases such as Fusarium and root rot, significantly reducing losses during storage and transportation.
This variety is recommended for cultivation in open ground, particularly in eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, where it demonstrates high yield and stability even under adverse conditions. Fundador onion is widely used both for fresh market sales and home cooking — it is excellent for preparing various dishes, marinades, and preservation due to its flavor and juiciness.
