The «Iglinsky 2» onion variety represents a mid-season type with a diverse population and various bulb forms, among which round and elongated-oval shapes prevail. Bulbs are dense, with yellow dry scales and white juicy scales, average weight ranging from 85 to 105 grams. The onion flavor is semi-spicy, making it popular both for fresh consumption and processing. The variety is characterized by high yield, which can reach 305 centners per hectare, as well as excellent storage capacity — 87% and above, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss.

«Iglinsky 2» is distinguished by resistance to major diseases such as neck rot and bacterial rot, as well as drought and pests. The vegetative period from sowing to seedling maturation is about 81 days, and from seedling planting to bulb maturation — 76 days. The onion forms 1-2 bulbs per clump and has an average number of seed stalks of about 3.1 per plant. The stem is powerful and unbreakable, the inflorescence is uniform, usually includes 5-6 stalks, which contributes to good ripening and commercial appearance of the product.

The «Iglinsky 2» variety has a rich history and is being revived thanks to the efforts of Bashkir scientists, who continue research and breeding in specialized conditions. This onion was widely known and in demand during Soviet times, and today its popularity is confirmed by inclusion in state registers and successful cultivation in the Ural region and Bashkortostan.
