Description
To optimize the cultivation of the Ivan-Tsarevich variety, special studies were conducted to determine the most favorable planting dates for aerial bulbs. Experiments revealed that maximum bulb emergence - up to 98% - is achieved when planted in mid-August (August 15). Late summer planting also promotes the formation of a greater number of leaves on the plant, averaging 4.3 pieces, which positively affects overall yield.
Thus, the Ivan-Tsarevich variety is a promising choice for obtaining green onion under the conditions of the Altai Preobye region and other regions with similar climatic conditions. Its high productivity, winter hardiness, and short maturation period make it convenient and profitable for cultivation both on an industrial scale and in private farms.
