IVANOVNA

Ivanovna is a type of shallot intended for cultivation in a two-year system from seed onions. It belongs to medium-early varieties; the period from regrowth to leaf lodging is 54-56 days. This variety has numerous leaves reaching lengths up to 33 cm, with a green coloration of medium intensity and a slight waxy coating. The bulbs are egg-shaped with a strong adhesion of dry cover scales, which are colored yellow, while the juicy scales are white. Each bulb contains 5-6 dry scales and 7-8 germ buds, and 5 to 8 bulbs form in the cluster.

The taste of the Ivanovna variety is sharp, making it attractive for culinary use. The mass of one bulb is about 82 grams. The maturation of bulbs before harvesting reaches 99%, and after ripening it reaches 100%, indicating high quality maturity and readiness for storage. The bulb yield is 3.35 kg per square meter, which is a good indicator for this variety.
