Lukovitsa

Luk of the variety "Lukovitsa" is a perennial plant of the Allium family, intended for cultivation in open and protected soil. The vegetation period is 95 days, during which 18 days pass from the start of growth to market ripeness, and the period of economic usability is 15 days. The plant is cold-resistant and capable of wintering in open ground, allowing successful cultivation in all regions of Ukraine. The height of the plant at market ripeness reaches 50 centimeters, and the diameter of the clump in the second year of vegetation is approximately 45 centimeters. The average weight of one plant is about 580 grams.

The leaves of the "Lukovitsa" onion are narrow, tubular, of moderate green color with a slight waxy coating. Their length reaches 48 centimeters, and the width is about 0.8 centimeters. The pseudostem diameter can reach 1 centimeter, and the average number of leaves per plant is 96. The plant is multi-stemmed, with flowers of pale pink and purple hues, which appear during moderate-intensity blooming. The yield of green mass for this variety is approximately 41.4 tons per hectare.

The "Lukovitsa" onion is widely used in culinary applications due to its nutrient-rich leaves with a slightly bitter taste. It is excellent for consumption fresh, especially in salads, and is also suitable for ornamental horticulture. Sowing seeds is recommended in early spring, in July, or in late autumn, which ensures flexibility in agronomic practices and allows for stable yields.
