Sturon onion (Sturon) — a popular variety of Dutch selection, distinguished by high yield and long storage period. This late variety is characterized by large bulbs of ellipsoidal or elongated oval shape, weighing up to 180-250 grams on fertile soils. The bulb skin has a yellow-brown or bronze tint, while the flesh is white. Sturon onion has a semi-sharp or sharp taste, making it in demand both in amateur gardening and professional cultivation.
Plants reach a height of up to 60 cm, and the maturation period is about 100-110 days from germination to leaf yellowing. One of the distinctive features of the variety is an increased yield of marketable bulbs and high resistance to diseases, which contributes to a stable and quality harvest. Thanks to the strong skin and medium thickness of the bulb neck, Sturon is excellent for long-term storage — under proper conditions it maintains its qualities for up to 8 months.
