The Spring Blotch shallot variety is the result of selection based on the crossbreeding of a polycross shallot and onion. This variety was bred in Novosibirsk and is characterized by an early maturity period — from germination to the mass lodging of leaves it takes 48-50 days. A cluster forms 3 to 7 large bulbs, ensuring a high yield of 15.4-18.6 tons per hectare. The 'Spring Blotch' onion has a bright yellow-brown color and long storability, allowing storage of the harvest for up to 9-10 months without quality loss.
