Description
The CH 201 pear is a new green-yellow variety with a beautiful red tint, distinguished by its excellent taste and outstanding agronomic properties. The fruits of this variety are dense, almost crisp, and extremely juicy, with good sugar content and a slight tartness that gives them freshness and uniqueness. Fruit size reaches 65-80 mm, making them attractive to consumers. This variety was developed in Switzerland by crossing the Harrow Sweet and Verdi varieties within the Agroscape breeding program.
The CH 201 pear has very high storage capacity — fruits retain their quality until the end of April and even longer at temperatures below zero. The tree is easy to maintain, fruiting begins quickly and is characterized by high regularity without alternate bearing. Harvesting usually occurs 2-3 weeks after the Conference variety ripens. Additionally, the variety is resistant to phytophthora, bacterial burn, and other diseases and pests, significantly simplifying cultivation and reducing the need for treatments.
The CH 201 pear fruits withstand handling at packing stations and in stores, making them convenient for "on-the-go" consumption. Besides technical characteristics, the variety stands out for its original appearance and dense, almost crisp texture. Due to its qualities, this variety was recently awarded a gold medal at the European exhibition, confirming its high rating among specialists and consumers.
