Description
The Permyachka pear variety is a high-growing tree with a wide pyramidal crown, reaching over 5 meters in height without pruning. The trunk is massive with light brown bark, while the large dark green leaves have a boat-like shape with a slight point at the tip. The crown is spreading, ensuring good lighting and ventilation, which promotes healthy plant development. The variety was bred by crossing the Temya variety with the pollen of the Elena and Kosmicheskaya varieties, ensuring high yield and disease resistance. Permyachka pear fruits are medium to large, weighing from 130 to 280 grams, with a characteristic pear-shaped form and wide ribbing. The skin is thin but strong, bright yellow in color, sometimes with a blush that appears with sufficient sunlight. The flesh is white or cream, finely grained, juicy and sweet, making the fruits especially attractive to consumers. The variety is mid-season, with fruits ripening at the end of August to early September, allowing them to be used for both fresh consumption and processing. Permyachka is distinguished by high yield—up to 31 kg per tree and about 220 hundredweight per hectare—as well as good winter hardiness, which is rated as moderate under Ural conditions. The variety is resistant to scab and has low susceptibility to pear gall wasp, reducing the need for frequent application of protective agents. Thanks to its adaptability, Permyachka pear can be grown in various regions of Russia, including the Volga-Vyatka and Ural regions, and successfully bears fruit even in climatic conditions different from the middle belt with proper care.
