Description
Late-autumn variety obtained at the Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture of Siberia named after M. A. Lisavensky by pollinating the selected form No. 10821 (Granddaughter Ch Bergamot) with winter Decan. Breeders: I. A. Puchkin, I. P. Kalinina, E. P. Karataeva, M. I. Borisenko. Approved for cultivation in the West Siberian and East Siberian regions.
Trees of medium height, with round, slightly spreading, not dense crowns. The predominant type of fruit formations — simple and complex rings.
Shoots slightly arched, brown. Leaves of medium size, broadly egg-shaped, dark green, smooth. Leaf blade concave, with barely noticeable serration on the straight edge.
Fruits of medium size, weighing 140 g, pear-shaped, bumpy, unequal-sided. Skin not rough, smooth, oily, shiny. Main color at harvest — green, at consumer ripeness — golden-yellow, covering — bright red, blurred striped blush covering up to half the fruit surface. Subcutaneous dots small, green, well-expressed, numerous. Peduncle of medium length, curved. Fruiting cup not expressed. Calyx non-detaching, half-open. Subcalyx tube short, sac-like. Dish of medium depth, wide, ridged. Heart small, onion-shaped. Chambers closed, medium, partitioned. Seeds small, narrow, lanceolate.
Flesh white, medium density, juicy, fine-grained, slightly juicy, tart-sweet, good taste. Chemical composition of fruits: total sugar — 12.9%, titratable acids — 0.44%, tannins — 58 mg/100g, ascorbic acid — 5.8 mg/100g, P-active compounds — 58 mg/100g.
Fruits ripen by mid-October, can be stored in refrigerator until January. Suitable for fresh consumption.
Variety enters fruiting on the fourth to fifth year. Bears fruit regularly but moderately. Winter hardiness of Perun is only satisfactory, lower than that of old Siberian lukašovka varieties, so its reliable cultivation is possible only on sites with favorable microclimate. Variety is highly resistant to fungal diseases.
Advantages of the variety: good commercial and consumer qualities of fruits, high resistance to fungal diseases.
Disadvantages of the variety: insufficient winter hardiness.
