Description
Winter variety. Obtained by crossing the varieties Talgar Red Beauty and Daughter of Dawn. Originator is the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Plant Genetics and Breeding named after I.V. Michurin. Breeders: S.P. Yakovlev, A.P. Grigbanovskiy, N.I. Savelyev, V.V. Chiviliev, E.N. Djigadlo. Approved for the Central Chernozem region since 2004.
Medium-sized tree with a pyramidal, moderately dense crown. Mixed fruiting type.
Medium-thick, straight, brown, bare shoots with few buds. Buds are small, pressed, conical, smooth. Leaves are medium-sized, egg-shaped, short-pointed, green, smooth, matte, with delicate venation; leaf blade curved upward, base shape obtuse, finely toothed margin, medium-length petiole, leaf sheaths lanceolate.
Fruits are medium to large, weighing 130-200 g, truncate-conical, smooth. Skin is medium, smooth, waxy, with a waxy coating. Color at harvest: main green, partial pink covering; at consumer maturity: main greenish-yellow, covering red. Peduncle is medium, curved, oblique. Calyx is small, narrow, weakly rusted, half-open, non-falling, medium-wide receptacle. Heart is medium, bulbous, seed chambers closed, medium. Seeds are medium, conical, brown.
Flesh is creamy, medium density, tender, semi-oily, juicy without bitterness, with minor granulation, slightly acidic-sweet taste, moderate aroma. Taste score: 4.3 points.
Fruits contain 13.3% soluble solids, 9.6% sugars, 0.3% titratable acids, 7.9 mg/100g ascorbic acid, 176.0 mg/100g P-active substances.
Begins fruiting at 5-6 years. High yield. Harvest maturity occurs in the second decade of September; consumer storage period in refrigerated storage is 120-150 days.
Highly winter-hardy. After artificial freezing in mid-winter at -38°C, cambial tissue damage did not exceed 0.7 points; bark and xylem showed no freezing damage. Highly resistant to fungal diseases. Slightly affected by pear moth.
Advantages: long consumer fruiting period, high resistance to diseases and pests.
Disadvantages: fruit size decreases with dense crown.
