The Alverston Rasset potato variety is a late-maturing table variety of Dutch origin with a vegetative period of about 100-120 days. Tubers have round-oval or oval shape with yellow or brown skin and white flesh. The average weight of marketable tubers ranges from 102 to 122 grams, and the number of tubers per plant varies from 8 to 11. The starch content is within 16.1-18.8%, providing good taste and versatility in cooking. The potato is suitable for frying, boiling, baking, and processing into French fries, making it popular both in households and fast food restaurants.

This variety is characterized by high yield — from 164 to 278 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 342 c/ha. The tuber storability is 92%, allowing long-term storage without loss of quality. Alverston Rasset is resistant to potato cancer pathogen and Yntn virus, but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode, late blight, common scab, alternaria, and PVY virus. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to carefully prepare seed potatoes, treat soil against nematodes, and protect plants from late blight and alternaria. Special care should be taken during harvesting and storage of tubers.
