Bavatop potato is a very late variety for table use, characterized by high yield and excellent taste. Plants of this variety are tall, stem-type, semi-upright, with medium-sized leaves of intermediate type and green to dark green coloration. The flower cluster is medium or large-sized, with intense anthocyanic coloring on the inner side, varying from strong to very strong.
The tubers of the Bavatop variety are oval-round in shape with small or medium-depth eyes. The skin is yellow, and the flesh is light-yellow. The marketable tuber mass ranges from 125 to 208 grams. Starch content varies within 16.9–24.5%, ensuring good nutritional value and taste qualities. The marketability of the variety reaches 88.9%, and storability is 95.0%, indicating high tuber preservation during storage.
The Bavatop variety is resistant to a range of diseases and pests, including potato late blight pathogen and golden potato cyst nematode. According to the breeder, it is also resistant to potato mosaic and leaf curling. The yield of this variety is high: marketable yield ranges from 166 to 222 centners per hectare, which is 60 centners higher than the Nikulin standard, and maximum yield reaches 261 centners per hectare, which is 74 centners higher than the Karuzo standard.
