Description
The Ossetinский potato variety is a medium-early table variety characterized by high market yield and good taste qualities. The plant is low-growing, semi-upright, with open medium-sized green leaves and a medium-sized flower with weak anthocyanic coloring on the inner side. Tubers are elongated-oval in shape with small eyes, partially red skin, and creamy flesh. The average marketable tuber weight is about 110 grams, with starch content reaching 17.3%, ensuring good taste and excellent culinary properties.
The yield of the Ossetinский variety varies from 152 to 200 centners per hectare, which is 44 centners higher than the Mia standard and corresponds to the Elizabeth standard level. Maximum yield can reach 228 centners per hectare, comparable to the Volzhaniin variety. Tubers have a marketability of 74% and storability of 95%, indicating high product preservation during storage.
The variety shows resistance to several diseases, including potato cancer pathogen and golden potato cyst nematode. According to data from the VNIIF phytosanitary institute, Ossetinский is moderately susceptible to late blight on both foliage and tubers. Additionally, the variety is resistant to rugose and striped mosaic, as well as leaf curling, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the North Caucasus region.
