Description
Plants of the Ryabinushka variety have medium to high stature with semi-erect or erect growth form. Leaves are dark green, medium or large in size with wavy edges, and flowers are purple-blue. Tubers are oval-shaped with smooth surface, covered with light pink or red skin that is thin but strong and smooth to the touch. Flesh of tubers is rich creamy color, does not darken upon contact with air, metal, or during thermal processing. Eyes are small and shallowly set, facilitating cleaning. Average tuber mass ranges from 90 to 133 grams.
The variety has high marketability (86-96%) and storability (about 90%), making it attractive for storage and sale. Starch content of tubers ranges from 11.9% to 15%, and flesh has a flaky texture without excessive dryness or wetness. Potato is versatile in cooking: it is excellent for frying, baking, making purée, soups, and salads. During thermal processing, tubers retain shape and attractive dark-cream color, making dishes from Ryabinushka especially appetizing. Additionally, the variety is resistant to pests and diseases such as Colorado beetle, golden nematode, and potato scab, contributing to stable and high-quality yields.
