The potato variety Salsa is a medium-early table variety with yellow skin and light-yellow flesh. Plants of this variety have medium height and intermediate growth type with semi-erect form. Tubers are oval-round in shape with small eyes, weighing from 105 to 320 grams, characterized by good marketability, reaching 82-91%. Starch content varies from 11 to 16.5%, providing excellent taste qualities and absence of darkening during boiling and color change after peeling.
The Salsa variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 30 to 66 tons per hectare, which is 58-78 centners higher than standard varieties. Maximum yield may reach 412 centners per hectare. The potato is well-adapted to cultivation on heavy soils, has high drought resistance, and positively responds to irrigation and high temperatures, making it versatile for various climatic conditions.
The variety is resistant to several diseases, including late blight of foliage and tubers, rhizoctonia, common and silver scab, as well as the potato cyst nematode and late blight according to data from the VNIIFH. Additionally, the variety is resistant to leaf curling, which contributes to maintaining plant health and stable yield.
