Description
The potato variety 'Sevim' is a medium-early table-type variety cultivated in the Central and Volga regions. The plant has a tall, erect stem form with leaves ranging from medium to large size, colored light green or green. The flower bud is medium or large in size with weak anthocyanin pigmentation on the inner side.
The tubers are oval-round in shape with small or medium-depth eyes. The skin and flesh are yellow, giving them an attractive appearance. The weight of one marketable tuber ranges from 104 to 170 grams. The starch content in the tubers is 13.8–17.9%, ensuring good taste and high marketability, reaching 89–91%. The tubers have a storage durability of 95%, allowing them to maintain quality over a long storage period.
The variety is characterized by high yield, significantly exceeding that of standard varieties such as 'Bryansky Delikates', 'Innovator', and 'Lady Clare'. The maximum yield reaches 491 centners per hectare. Additionally, 'Sevim' potato exhibits resistance to potato cancer pathogen, golden potato cyst nematode, and, according to the breeder, resistance to皱叶花叶病毒, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various conditions.
