Odessa 205 sorghum variety is a high-yielding grain variety with a vegetation period of about 110 days. It is characterized by low stature (120-125 cm), thick stems with a diameter of 25-30 mm, and absence of branching. Leaves are wide with dark-gray veins, and the upright panicle reaches a length of 10-12 cm. Grains are large, red, and half-open, which contributes to a high grain milling yield of 80-85%. The 1000-grain weight is 24-28 g.
Odessa 205 exhibits high resistance to head smut and bacterial blight, as well as drought tolerance and lodging resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The average yield of this variety is 33-39 c/ha, with potential reaching 75 c/ha. Grain quality indicators include 13.5-13.6% protein, 69-71% starch, and 3.0-3.1% fat, ensuring high-quality raw material for processing.
