Description
The Akela beet roots are round in shape and have a deep burgundy color without radial rings. The average weight of the roots varies from 200 to 300 grams. The flesh has a sweet taste and high nutritional value and sugar content, making this variety popular for fresh consumption as well as for processing into food additives. The foliage is dense and firmly attached to the root, allowing efficient mechanized harvest using combine harvesters.
The agronomic characteristics of the variety include a planting density of 500-600 thousand plants per hectare, a sowing depth of 2-3 cm, and a spacing of about 8 cm between plants. Seeds germinate at a temperature of +7 to +8 degrees, the optimal temperature for development is around +16 degrees, and the established plant can withstand frosts down to -4 degrees. For successful cultivation, regular watering, weed control, and fertilization are required. Akela beet is suitable for fresh market sales, storage, processing, and preparation of various dishes.
