Early variety of table beet with high yield, marketability, and uniformity of roots

Torpedo — an early-maturing variety of table beet. The period from sowing to harvest is 70-100 days. Roots of the early variety Torpedo are medium-sized, weighing 150-250 g, cylindrical in shape with dark red, non-ringy flesh. The root is deeply embedded in the soil to half its height, easily pulled out, with a thin central taproot without branches. The early table beet variety Torpedo is valued for its yield (55-70 t/ha), uniformity, and high percentage of marketable roots, as well as its excellent taste qualities. The storability of the Torpedo variety is medium. Recommended for short-term storage (3-4 months) and processing. Sowing seeds of early beet Torpedo should be carried out directly into the soil 6-7 days after field works commence, to prevent seeds and seedlings from exposure to low temperatures (2-3°C), which cause bolting. Recommended to use precision seeders for sowing early table beet Torpedo. Sowing seeds is recommended in single rows spaced 45 cm apart, in bands of 40+40+60 cm, or in wide strips 6-8 cm wide with row spacing of 45 cm. Estimated seed rate for table beet is 8-12 kg/ha.
