Description
Tomato Bottecchielli fruits are characterized by high uniformity, round shape, and smooth surface without dark green spot at the stem scar. They are very dense, fleshy, with good taste, average weight of 110-120 grams. Due to their dense structure, the fruits have excellent storability and transportability, retaining their commercial and taste qualities during storage at room temperature for more than 30 days. The hybrid is resistant to such diseases as tobacco mosaic virus, cladosporiasis, and fusarium, significantly simplifying care and increasing crop reliability.
Cultivation agronomy includes sowing seedlings in early to mid-March with transplanting at the stage of first or second true leaf. Seedlings are fertilized 2-3 times with complete fertilizer and hardened off 7-10 days before transplanting. Transplanting into greenhouses occurs in early to mid-May when seedlings are about 40-65 days old. Plants require regular watering, weeding, loosening, fertilization, and staking to support the tall stem. Planting scheme is 40x60 cm, which promotes optimal development and high yield — 8-10 kg per square meter. Tomato Bottecchielli is suitable both for fresh consumption and for canning.
