Bulava

The tomato variety Bulava is a medium-late, indeterminate type with an original large fruit shape resembling a keg or a bullet. The plant reaches a height of 1.5 to 1.9 meters in open ground and up to 1.8 meters in a greenhouse. The bushes are compact, with simple flower clusters that form 3–4 fruits weighing 100 to 300 grams, with an average weight of 200–250 grams. The fruits have a flat-round shape with a characteristic 'nose,' are dense and firm, without green shoulders, making them attractive for fresh consumption and processing. Fruit color varies from pale pink to deep red, with a raspberry-red juicy flesh containing several seed chambers and very few seeds. The flavor is bright, tangy-sweet, with pronounced juiciness, which gives them special appeal to gourmets. The average fruit length is 13–15 cm, although sometimes cracking and incomplete ripening at the base of the fruit may occur when grown in partial shade. The variety is resistant to several diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus (ToMV), Fusarium wilt (Fol), Verticillium wilt (Va, Vd), and Fusarium rot (Ff), making it a reliable choice for cultivation in greenhouses and open ground. Bulava is suitable for various uses, including fresh salads and processing, due to its dense fruit structure and excellent taste qualities.
