Description
Cupid-Young exhibits high resistance to major tomato diseases such as phytophthora, cladosporiosis, verticillium wilt, and tobacco mosaic virus. This significantly simplifies plant care and reduces the risk of crop loss. To enhance resistance to phytophthora, preventive treatments should be applied at specific intervals. Plants require staking on trellises or stakes and pruning to one or two stems with mandatory removal of suckers and old lower leaves, promoting better growth and fruiting.
The fruits of Cupid-Young are meaty, with few seeds and no green spot at the stem attachment, improving their appearance and quality. The fruits have elevated dry matter content and a sweet flavor, making them versatile for fresh consumption and for making sauces and pasta. Yield ranges from 8.5 to 14.2 kg per square meter, ensuring good commercial output. Recommended for cultivation in the Central and Central Chernozem regions, where the variety demonstrates its best performance.
