DAWN'S TREAT

Tomato 'Dawn's Treat' is an early-maturing determinate variety that reaches a height of about one meter. The plant has leaves of normal shape but small size. The fruits of this variety are traditionally round, with smooth, thin skin and medium-firm flesh. Immature tomatoes are green without the characteristic spot at the base of the calyx, and upon ripening, they turn to a rich red color. The average fruit weight is about 15 grams; they form on long trusses, with 20 to 25 tomatoes ripening simultaneously on each truss. Under favorable conditions, one plant may produce 4 to 6 trusses per season.

For successful cultivation of 'Dawn's Treat', it is recommended to use plastic covers, as well as to stake and prune the plants. To increase the number of fully ripe trusses, it is advised to remove nearly all leaves before the first trusses, when the fruits reach technical maturity. The variety exhibits good resistance to certain diseases, such as tobacco mosaic virus and fusarium wilt.

The fruits of this tomato have excellent flavor: they are sweet with elevated sugar content, making them especially delicious when eaten fresh.
