Description
Growing the Dobryak tomato begins with sowing seeds in March into slightly compacted soil, which is mulched with peat or a soil layer about 1 cm thick. After watering with warm water, the seeds are covered with plastic film and placed in a warm location with a temperature of about 25°С. After seedlings emerge, the plastic is removed, and the seedlings are placed in a well-lit area. In the first 5-7 days, the temperature is maintained at 15-16°С, then gradually increased to 20-22°С. At the stage of 1-2 true leaves, seedlings are thinned out, and at the stage of 6-7 true leaves, approximately 60-65 days later, the seedlings are transplanted into a protected or open ground with a spacing of 40x40 cm.
Plant shaping is recommended to be done on one or two stems with removal of suckers. When the top of the greenhouse is reached, the main stem is pinched to control growth. Magnesium fertilizers are beneficial during the vegetative period in greenhouse conditions, and potassium fertilizers are recommended during the fruit set period. The Dobryak tomato variety responds well to infrequent but abundant watering. Harvesting occurs as fruits ripen throughout the season, and underripe fruits may continue to ripen after removal from the plant.
