GORKA

Gorka is a winter triticale variety developed in Russia, intended for the production of grain silage, grain for the spirits industry, and starch products. The plant is of medium height, with white, long, and dense spikelets, and grain of semi-elongated yellow shape. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 40 to 46 grams, while grain natural density is 680-702 g/l. The variety belongs to the medium-early type; heading and flowering occur 2-4 days earlier than the standard, allowing for efficient use of the growing season. Protein content in grain ranges from 12.4-14.0%, starch from 60.0-61.0%, ensuring high-quality raw materials for further processing.

The Gorka variety is distinguished by high resistance to major diseases such as stem and brown rust, powdery mildew, snow mold, septoria, and ergot. Thanks to complex field resistance to foliar diseases and drought resistance, the variety demonstrates stable winter hardiness at a level of 90.3-99.0% overwintering. Additionally, the variety is resistant to lodging, which helps preserve the yield and facilitates harvesting. High productivity of the variety is ensured by a large number of productive stems per square meter and well-filled spikelets, as well as uniform stem growth and even ripening.

Gorka is successfully grown in various climatic conditions of the Central Black Earth, Middle Volga, and Urals regions, where it shows an average yield increase over standards of 2.5-4.7%. The maximum yield achieved in the Lipetsk region was 93.7 c/ha. The variety is recommended for implementation in agricultural practice as a promising option for obtaining a stable and high-quality grain yield suitable for a wide range of industrial purposes.
