SIBERIA CROWN 2

Siberia Crown 2 is a new winter triticale variety bred by selection from the hybrid population Omskaya х Shans. This variety is characterized by high winter hardiness (82%) and resistance to lodging, ensuring crop reliability in complex climatic conditions. The vegetation period is 323 days, allowing the use of the variety in various regions with a moderate climate. Siberia Crown 2 differs in productive bushiness, density of plant standing, and significant grain mass per ear, which contributes to high yield.

Triticale is an interspecific hybrid of wheat and rye, combining the best qualities of both cereals. Siberia Crown 2 possesses high frost resistance, resistance to diseases and stresses, as well as ecological plasticity, which allows growing it on depleted soils. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone of the West Siberian and East Siberian regions, and also showed good results in the Central, Central Black Earth, North Caucasian, and Lower Volga regions, demonstrating stable yield and grain quality.

The yield of the Siberia Crown 2 variety reaches 6.96 t/ha, which exceeds the standard Altai-4 by 0.78 t/ha. The average mass of 1000 grains is 45.2 g, and the protein content in the grain varies from 12.0% to 13.4%, which makes it suitable for use in the food and compound feed industries. The variety is characterized by earliness and a semi-erect bush type, while the ear is half-bristled with weak anthocyanin coloration of the coleoptile. Due to its agronomic characteristics and high productivity, Siberia Crown 2 is popular among farmers and agrarians.
