The plant features a long stem height ranging from 130 to 195 cm and a light-red, awnless ear of medium density. The grain is large, elongated-round, and light-red in color, with the mass of 1000 grains varying from 37.8 to 49.1 g. The variety exhibits high frost hardiness and winter hardiness, is resistant to May frosts, ensuring reliable wintering and stable development in regions with cold climates. Tornado demonstrates high resistance to major pathogens, such as powdery mildew, glume blotch, powdery and hard smut, which significantly reduces yield losses and improves the quality of feed mass. Dry matter yield reaches 59.8 c/ha, while green feed yield exceeds 80 t/ha, making the variety attractive for producing high-energy green feed with elevated fat, protein, and carotene content. Resistance to lodging at the technological maturity stage is rated at 7 points, ensuring crop safety and ease of harvesting. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatsk, Central Black Earth, North Caucasian, and Middle Volga regions of Russia. The sowing rate is 4.0–4.5 million seeds per hectare, promoting optimal plant development and maximum productivity.
