TYUMEN GRAIN FEED

Winter triticale variety 'Tyumen Grain Feed' is a hybrid of wheat and rye possessing a unique combination of the economic-biological characteristics of both species. This variety is intended for grain use for both feed and food purposes. The plants are of medium height with a semi-erect tiller and a medium-length head, which is fully awned and has a wax coating of medium intensity. The grain is naked, semi-elongated, yellow or light red in color, with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 39 to 54 grams. The average protein content in the grain is about 11.8%, which ensures good quality of feed and food raw materials. The variety is characterized by medium ripening with a vegetative period from 222 to 281 days and average heading time. It possesses high winter hardiness and resistance to lodging, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions, including the North Caucasus and Central regions. Under field conditions, the variety demonstrates weak infection with brown rust, septoria, and ergot, indicating good resistance to fungal diseases.
